Sorry for some delays - I’ve got a flu, so I’m spending these days mostly in bed. Just few small updates are ready:
Synchronize It: fixing problems with auto-confirm and comparison rules from cmdline: wndsync.zip (800K, #1377) and Unicode
CompareIt 4b: fixing basic switch sides in image and hex views: wincmp4b.zip (750K, #1848) and Unicode.
Raphael from Netherlands has reported problem with “Apply for all” confirmation, so here is a fix:
wndsync.zip and Unicode (800K, #1374).
To test how difficult now is adding new view support into CompareIt, I have added side-by-side images display within panes. Surprisingly, it only tooks me several hours to implement, without comparison itself. Maybe I will add some comparison code for very simple cases later. Jpg, gif, png, ico, bmp, cur are all supported, but the list may depend on IE version installed. I guess someday I will try to use IrfanView api to support all images. Now back to binary editing..

OK, seems like I have finally managed to rework binary comparison engine. Now it can quickly detect if files have some long (1% and more) same parts, and if such same blocks are not found, files are not compared in details. In fact, afterwards it tries to search for 0.1% length blocks, but this can be slow for large different files, so user is notified when first part is over.So if you need binary comparison in your work - feel free to try new v4 beta: wincmp4b.zip (750K, #1841).
And I will now work on saving and full-featured binary editing within panes.
