Encoding selection for CompareIt

Posted in Compare It! at 1:56 pm by Igor Green

Unicode version of CompareIt now has ability to select encoding in View>Encoding menu. It will only work when opening non-unicode files. Note that ANSI version supports encoding specified in Font selection.
Downloads: Unicode (1M, #2184)

Also, I have update for shell extension, which should finally work fine with Win7, including 64b:
wincmpext.zip (110KB)

What does this do exactly? What encodings end up in the menu? (For example, I’d expect to see UTF8, UTF16, winansi, macroman, etc, but I don’t see them. It looks more like a list of code pages?)

Yes, actually this is a codepages list. I will extend it with manual UNICODE\UTF selection if autodetection would fail.
