Manual Matching Ignore Difference Merged report

In rare cases, the comparison engine can do false line matching. This can happen if a file has multiple duplicate lines. To correct this problem, you can perform manual matching.

To manually match two lines:

  1. For each line, position the cursor in the line, right-click and choose Manual match > Set manual anchor.
The anchor is shown in the user interface in a red box with a number, which allows you to use multiple anchors without problems.
  2. Repeat step 1 for each set of lines you want to match manually.
Note: You can set up to 25 manual anchors.
  3. Choose View > Rescan to rescan the files.
The lines with the same anchor number will be considered identical during the comparison.

Other commands available from the Manual match submenu:

Command Description
Delete anchor Deletes the anchor from the current line.
Show match Find the pair anchor in the other file.
Next anchor Find the next anchor in the same file.
Delete all anchors Deletes all manual link anchors in both files.
