Options Dialog Box: File Filters Options: General Options: Comparison

You can set custom filters for Compare It! to use when you access the Enhanced Open File dialog box.

To add a file filter:

  1. Choose Options > Options.
    The Options dialog box appears.
  2. In the Options box, click File Filters.
  3. Click the Add button.
  4. In the Name field, type a description for the file type.
    This is the description you will see in the Files of type drop-down list in the Enhanced Open File dialog box.
  5. In the Mask field, define one or more file masks.
    You can use a space, a comma, or a semicolon as a delimiter.
  6. By setting Use fixed font option you may force using alternative (fixed) font for this file type.
  7. From the Compare as drop-down list, select a comparison profile for these files.
  8. From the Syntax drop-down list, select a value.
    -or-
    To define a custom language, from the Syntax drop-down list, select Custom, and then use the browse button that appears next to the new field below Syntax to select a syntax file.

To delete a file filter:

  1. Choose Options > Options.
    The Options dialog box appears.
  2. In the Options box, click File Filters.
  3. Select the filter you want to delete and click the Delete button.

To move a file filter:

  1. Choose Options > Options.
    The Options dialog box appears.
  2. In the Options box, click File Filters.
  3. Select the filter you want to move and use the up and down arrow buttons to move the filter.
