Re: Can't get moved sections feature to work properly
Maybe you could rename the wincmp3.ini file, then start again from fresh. But you must have your serial handy, since it is also stored in the ini (or add it back with a compare operation
).

Re: Duplicate mode bug
Certaily not.
Duplicate - as the name implies - exactly duplicates the source to the target, no matter if target is newer.
Sychronize will do what you want.
The help file explains this very nicely.

Re: Attempting to build Magic 2.94b19
Igor is Igor and not Valerii, Valerii released the source code under GPL AFAIK and Igor in his kindness is maintaining and expanding it. :) That basically means you can do (almost) what you want with it within the GPL license scope, which is relatively broad as long as it stays free and some other p...

Nice way to speed up SI
I have been able to dramatically speed up SI by using Process Lasso by Bitsum.com: During long synching operations I set "system" and "SI" process to "high" and assign different cores in "CPU affinity" to them. Then I keep SI minimized to not slow it down by screen refreshes. Just did several 100 GB...

Re: Sync it 3.5: Restoring files from backup?
The duplicate options is for that. All files regardless of size/date will get overwritten with the source files, extra files will be deleted.
Look in the help file where Igor has nicely described the different backup options.

Path problem
Hi Igor, I have files in "Text Crawler" and "Text Crawler2" folders. In a duplicate operation the files in "Text Crawler2" show up in SI as if they were in root of my folder tree, but they are not there but in the aforementioned folder. V: is a network drive on XP SP3 Home. Screen shot makes it more...

Re: backup to external HD, keep folder Create date?
Yes of course SI can do this, it even keeps folder dates. Otherwise it would not be true synchronization. Actually SI makes the truest copies of any synching program on the market, since it also can truely transfer sparse files, attributes, NTFS permissions, streams, and junctions. An upgrade is rea...

Re: Command Line Question
I just tested your cmd line and it should work.
The only thing I can say is that in your post there is no space between the two parameters.

Re: Si & 7zip Bug
Before anybody gets killed by suspense over this mystery, I will lift the veil of ignorance from the screenshot :): The left shows SI, the right side shows the same synching process with another synchronizer from a .7z file to a folder. Clearly SI misses a few files that are in the folders. This hap...

SI & TC: using TCs archive plugins
Hi Igor, when synching from within archives, SI cannot use TC's inherent archive capabilities, only zip and defined unpackers. It would be nice if one could use the capabilities of TC automatically in this regard, just as CI can (though I do know that this is due to TCs better integration of an exte...

Icons messed up
Hi Igor,
when you right click on the little triangles, the icons in the pop-up seem wrong, f.e. "insert block above target" should have the icon "delete block on target".
Regards,
B.
