Vista is known for it's bad network performance to something other than another Vista or Server 2008 network node. FreeNAS falls outside this category, so performance is bad. Vista SP1 is meant to improve this, but in some cases it doesn't, or hardly so. Another case might be you access the shares t...

Hm, If the projects are all (most) like this, with an intermediate (secondary) storage location that is then updated to a tertiary storage, I'd suggest to update from primairy storage to secondary and tertiary storage, to avoid any possible time-differences when updating from say, a Linux based NAS,...

I'm curius what destination the files are written to, possibly *nix through Samba? If so, it might need an update of the Samba stuff on the server/host side.

You can (also) use the keyboard to accept or deny the deletion, overwriting, etc. of a file, the key is the underlined one in the caption of the buttons. If the underline isn't visible, pres the alt-key once, and the underlines should become visible (that's a Windows feature). IMHO a much better (& ...

Hm, I'd like to request a change so the settings can still be saved in an ini file, be it in some {commonappdata} directory (InnoSetup speak) , so I can still manage my configurations with a text-editor when copying large sets of settings.

TIA,

A disadvantage of both a batchfile and directly calling cmd /c could be the maximum linelength that is supported by cmd.exe. I'm in the impression it's about 512 bytes, but I'm not really sure, and also didn't search for it (yet), I'll do that later.

Or, as good old Jerry Pournelle likes to say from time to time: "Backup early and often!". For those that never heard of Jerry Pournelle; he wrote a column (very pleasantly readable) for 20 or so years in the probably oldest computer-related magazine Byte (USA), and when the paper edition stopped, a...

Hm, If you need votes (to not use the word complaint), I'd like this form to be more flexibly resizable as well. I'd also like the default focus to be on the Project/Session selection list, because being a sort of 'keyboard fanatic' (trying to avoid RSI) now I have to press <Tab> several times (4) b...

The balloonmessage is indeed an option, but a) I don't like it much for a display (that's just me, sorry), and b) I can't still view the files, even though they are 'equal', either because they are actually equal, or the regex exclusions force it to be equal. Request: Could the Balloon message dialo...

Compare without diff has beep, how to disable?

When comparing files with Compare It!, and the result is that they are equal (either because there are no diffs or regex exclusions make them equal), CI gives a default Alert message with a beep. I'd like to disable this beep, as I'm also playing radio through internet, and so can't disable Windows ...

There was a message before in this forum, about comparing based on content, but not flatly doing an ascii compare, but a more intelligent Compare It! comparison, using regex, ignoring cr/lf/cr-lf differences, white space/blank lines, etc. This does slow down the compare process quite a bit, but it d...
