Doesn't work for me ... - did you check it thoroughly (empty spaces, etc.)?

I think I understand now the first two additions:

They refer to the possibillities to start the TC internal synchronizer as a standalone application.

Thus they do not affect SI usage with TC.

The fix *is* applicable and would influence your testing of code.

Latest Changes in TC7.5RC1 re SI

Hi Igor, Ghisler has made the following changes that *might* impact SI in conjunction with TC: 03.08.09 Added: Auto-start internal sync tool with parameter SYNCOPEN =SettingsName or just SYNCOPEN = 03.08.09 Added: Auto-start external sync tool with parameter /S=S:=SettingsName or just /S=S:= when pa...

Hi Igor, re: "%P\" "%Z%T" You are doing a hack here to make archives work on target, but ideally shouldn't %Z work in front of both sides? You may have an archive on either target or source and not restrict yourself to having an archive only on target! So when you rewrite your code (hopefully you ca...

If you set up CI to work as replacement for the internal TC comparer, then it already does archives very nicely.

So please make sure you do not break that functionality when you make code changes.

Total Commander added support for passing archives to SI!

Hi Igor, good news: Ghisler added support for passing archives to SI in TC7.5 Beta8 :). Please see in history.txt: "21.07.09 Added: Button bar, start menu: New parameter %Z: Allow to pass name of archive in %P or %T parameter (only recommended if the called program can handle it)" and in the help fi...

@gkiers:

Have you tried Duplicate Cleaner (http://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk).

I found it to be very mature and the hard link facility is very solid.

Their other program "Text Crawler" (multi file text replace) is also great.

Hi, could the solution be not to unzip? CompareIt can compare files inside the archive, thus you do not have the problems of setting dates to the time of unzipping. If you use CompareIt from inside Total Commander, it will be even easier - please see below for a description: http://www.grigsoft.com/...

Tooltip cut off

When the file name on target is very long and not shown fully in the preview window, the tooltip - which should show the full name - is also cut off (SI maximized).

Yes, cool, it works ONLY when in Synchronize mode, I tried it in the other modes before, skipping Synchronize mode, that's why it did not work.

Maybe something to that extent should be mentioned in the help file section.

Adanced Comparing of Folder

Hi Igor, I have two folders I use for software downloads: on the notebook side I do not want to have all files copied to it from my desktop for space reasons. But when I download an updated version I delete the old version if I have it on the notebook. So therefore I want SI to tell me: You have del...

As a not elegant work around, you can make a batch file del.bat with one line in it: "del %1". Then make two Tools entries: Delete Left and Delete Right, sending {SourcePath} and {TargetPath} respectively to del.bat. Not elegant, because the file gets deleted, but the deletion does not show up in SI...

Bugs in Find

Hi Igor,

when using Find following unexpected behavior:

Pressing Enter after typing find text now hides Find bar - expected would be to execute search.

When Find bar is open but has no focus, Alt-N (Next) does not work.

No Alt-H (Hide) is implemented.

Yes, hard linked files and sparse files are both working now! Great! My provider was doing some caching. Through a proxy I was able to get the up to date file beta 1676. This will be very useful for people working with virtual machines, which use a lot of sparse files to emulate hard drives. Well do...
