Is it possible to synchronize by volume name. I have a few pen drives I keep for different uses and would like the program to recognise the individual drive, not just where it is mounted. Hi Igor,

When I use this option, "view changes only", it does reduce the displayed text, but it still does show lines in the file that don't have changes in them. Please can you check this out.

Look at the options/comparison and uncheck "ignore blanks"

The possibility of using the volume name or/and the volume serial number to identify a drive, is a great advantage for removable drives.

That's just wrong tools for your task. What you need is any duplicate finder - there are many such tools, including freeware. There is even built-in tool in TotalCommander for that. So will you be adding regex so that the full file can be processed, it is very useful because regex can be very powerful and changs things you did not take into account.

Oh I see. I had been using "Winmerge" and this did have the ability to do Regex search and replace on the whole file, I just assumed Compare It! was the same. No problem, thanks Igor.

My screen res is 1440x900. Windows version Vista home premium fully updated I have found that the problem with the ini file is not there when I run the prog in Admin, so I will just do that.
