Cannot save file in binary mode

Post by brahman »

Hi Igor,

following error occurred after binary editing file w. latest beta:

"Could not write to this file:
c:\temp\t1\First 128 Sectors of HDrive.Huber.bin
File is probably locked by another application"

Then it would not let me do "save as" either. And complained when exiting that files were not saved.

Had to do the job with Beyond Compare, which was a disappointment to me.

Can you try to fix the binary editing and make it work?

Advanced users will definitely need this function, and CI implements it very nicely.

Regards,

B

Yes, currently saving in binary mode is disabled - I have not verified it yet. It's beta, after all :) It will be ready.

Hi. I'm trying out the beta and I cannot seem to figure out how to delete bytes from one of the files. If I highlight bytes and hit the delete key, the bytes just get zeroed out, not removed.

Toggle INS mode, which is on by default - this should help.
