Writing regular expressions requires time for me, because I have to try variations on the syntax to discover what will work. It would be much easier to debug regular expressions if there were a Lines View option just for regular expressions, showing the current lines as edited by regular expressions, and as shortened by any columns ranges. Ideally, I could see the current lines change appearance in Regular Expression Lines View in real time as I changed the regular expression options.

I would want to select Regular Expression Lines View in addition to (not instead of) the regular Lines View.

Thank you, I will think about it. Maybe I will just add some RegExps testing area.

A Regular Expressions Lines View similar to the existing Lines View would make it easier to check many lines in a comparison that did not work as expected.
A regular expressions testing area would be enhanced if it would be possible to select various lines from the files to be compared, as test data.
