I just downloaded, registered and used Synchronize it! - great program in found it when i was working with Unisys... however, for my use, i discovered a little "bug".
I have tested with:
-1- An empty folder on the target
-2- An empty folder on the source
-3- An empty folder on the source AND the same folder on the target(but this one contains some files)
Those 3 situations can happen....
I used the "Duplicate" action setting true:
- Handle Empty folders
- Delete Empty folders
All goes well for the cases 1 and 2.(empty target folder is deleted and empty source folder is copied)(This is due to the option "Handle Empty folders")
The case number 3 cause some trouble:
- The files under the target(not empty before action) are removed - this is normal.
- This target - after or during action - is deleted because the option "Delete Empty folders" is set.
This delete action must not be done because of the option "Handle Empty folders" which means that if an empty folder is on the source, it must be also present after the action on the target.
The only detour i found is to Synchronize-It! again.
This oblige me to start/use twice Synchronize-It! to achieve my "Duplicate" action.
Empty Folders revisited
I agree that this is not a crucial/urgent problem ...
Many thanks for the rapid reaction - and also thanks in advance for the correction you will do.
1. How will i know when the correction will be available, and how to apply the patch on my machine ?
2. Your wrote: do you really need "Delete Empty folders" option set?
2a. Yes, ...see 2b and 2c for the reasons...
2b. My undertanding was that the option: "handle Empty folder" is to copy an empty folder present only on the source, and delete an empty folder present only on the target.
2c. My understanding was that the option "Delete Empty folders" is to delete a folder on the target when it became empty (except if the folder still exist on the source)
.............. In fact i do a understanding difference between an empty folder and a folder that is going empty due to the deletion of all his files.
- I hope you undersand what i mean .... (my mother language is french

Re: Empty Folders revisited
I had used the RSS way of follow-up.
This methode tells me that a new version 3.5 is now avalaible with a lot of correction.
Is the correction of my problem included ?
If the answer is yes ... should i pay to have this version - because i see in my documentation:
Synchronize It!

Free updates till: 10.2009

Re: Empty Folders revisited
Sorry, your problem was not solved. But you don't have to pay for upgrade.
