Crash of unknown reason

Post by Spitfire_ch »

Hi,

since a few weeks synchronize it! "encounters a problem and needs to close" every now and then. It does not always happen, trying several times in a row often makes the problem disappear (even though the folders were not changed). If it happens, the problem occurs while comparing the files, mostly for large folders, never after you hit the synchronize button (hence not while moving the files).

It may have something to do with XP SP3, because I installed that a couple of weeks ago.

Is there any logfile I could attach for you? I'll attach the windows error report.

Best regards

I tried to copy paste it, but I couldn't select the message. I'll take a screenshot next time it crashed.

Ok, got one again. I just compared two random folders in order to get it running for a while, which enhances the chances to get the crash. I got one after approx 10 sec.

I took some screenshots of the first few windows of the error message. You can download the assembled file here:

Please let me know if you need more or if there is a specific logfile you need.

Good luck! And thank you!

Is there anything I can do to help you isolate this problem?

Best regards

FYI: I run XP SP3 as well, and don't experience such craches.

So it gotta be some other software, driver, whatever it doesn't like. Can't be hardware, because I didn't change it and it SynchIt run nicely before. The weird thing is, that the crashes are random, and hence almost never occur in short scans, only in longer ones. I couldn't find any pattern at all. The last file scanned is always a different one. It's as if something is shooting at SynchIt, but most of the times misses it except when it can shoot at it for a long time and thus increase the chances of hitting it. Poor SynchIt ... bloody shooter, whatever it may be!

You wrote somewhere that you use packages to synchronize 2 computers. Are the crashes occuring only on one of these machines?

That's right, the other is not on SP3, yet, though.
