File Lists comparisons

Post by jaffy »

hi,

i have read through the help file regarding comparing two file lists, but when i've tried it, it doesn't work

i have created a new directory and put in list1.txt, list2.txt and wincmp3.exe. i then typed at the command prompt:

wincmp3.exe list1.txt list2.txt /L /P:CN3

i was hoping to see a report file in the directory, but it was empty.

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong?

cheers,
jaffy

I think you need a file name after the /l . I have successfully used compareit in a batch file with this command:

Code: Select all

"C:\Program Files\Compare It!\wincmp3.exe" D:\HubTest\wincmp\old.lst D:\HubTest\wincmp\new.lst /l D:\HubTest\wincmp\wincmpresult.txt /n /r /G:Tensw
Its should be all on one long line, but you get the idea.

Hello,
I am sorry for the delay with the answer.
XP should not be a problem. What if you compare your files within COmpare It! manually - does it work?
