Can SI clone a system partition with the help of XXClone?

Post by brahman »

Hi Igor,

today I am very curious. :)

Therefore my next question:

I want to synch an XP system partition with another drive:

F.e. c: with f: (F: being the empty NTFS first partition on another drive, set as active primary).

"Copy NTFS permissions" in options is checked.

After the synch I plan to use XXCLONE'S Quick Boot Diskette feature to copy boot.ini from c: to f: and initialize the MBR.

Will I have a bootable drive if I exchange the target drive with the source drive after the successfull synch operation?

If not, what has to be done to achieve this goal? In other words: Can SI be used to clone a system partition with the help of XXclones QBD?

Thanks for answering.

Kind Regards,

Brahman

Well, since you are already using XXClone, I guess you can try that and report results to rest of us :) I guess you should XXClone docs - if it does preserve disk data when making disk bootable (and I guess it should), then I see no problems with this.
