Target dir contains empty top level directory - odd results

Post by whiri02 »

Comparing source to target where target contains a top level dir that does not exist in the source tree, and only contains sub-dirs, no files.
i.e. \20040909 to \20041230
\config
\normal
\test
\library \library
\scripts \scripts
The results panel shows erroneous data in the dir name for the missing directory (\20040909\config in my example).
If this is not the first compare you have done since the program started you see the name of the directory from the previous comparison (very confusing).
If this is the first compare the dir name is blank.

If you then swap the target with the source and redo the compare the lower level dir names appear, but the empty top level dir is still missing.
In 2.82 the top level dir is shown with the message '- empty folder -'.
This also has the effect of producing different statistics from 2.82, showing 1 less in the changed count.

Thanks. My example of the dir trees I was comparing did not show on the boards as I intended, but I hope my description contains enough detail. If not I can create a example structure and mail you the zips. Just let me know.
