Latest Changes in TC7.5RC1 re SI

Post by brahman »

Hi Igor,

Ghisler has made the following changes that *might* impact SI in conjunction with TC:

03.08.09 Added: Auto-start internal sync tool with parameter SYNCOPEN =SettingsName or just SYNCOPEN =
03.08.09 Added: Auto-start external sync tool with parameter /S=S:=SettingsName or just /S=S:= when passing the paths separately
05.08.09 Fixed: Button bar parameters, parameter %P/%T: Append backslash when in zip subdir (only works when %Z parameter used)

Could you interpret these changes for us and if they have an impact on SI use?

How are the changes to SI re. TC coming? Will you release an update soon?

Regards,

B.

I think I understand now the first two additions:

They refer to the possibillities to start the TC internal synchronizer as a standalone application.

Thus they do not affect SI usage with TC.

The fix *is* applicable and would influence your testing of code.

Thank you for information! As expected, "%Z%P\" "%Z%T\" command line now working flawlessly in Synchronize It!, handling archives both as source and as target. I will make a small update to article on TC integration.

Doesn't work for me ... - did you check it thoroughly (empty spaces, etc.)?

Does "%P\" "%T\" works for you for all plain folders?

OK ...

All entries EXACTLY as typed (incldg funny spaces etc.):

Source:
c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\a\Anwendungsdaten\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\Ybwv2kgx\tinyresmeter097 .zip

Target:
f:\DOWNLOAD\program\ Not on DVD Yet\

TC's bar file entry:
cmd4=%commander_path%\Msc\Synchronize It!\wndsync.exe
path4=%commander_path%\Msc\Synchronize It!\wndsync.exe
param4=""%Z%P\" "%Z%T\""
button4=%commander_path%\Msc\Synchronize It!\wndsync.exe
menu4=Synchronize It!

Result:

Well, you did it again :) I was testing passing folders inside archive, but failed to test simplest case, when archive root is passed. You are right, it doesn't work and the reason is obvious, I will contact Ghisler again - the problem is I just cant handle that.

Can you try this version - http://www.grigsoft.com/wndsyncbu.zip ?
I have tried to do all command line handling myself, so all problems with slashes are gone. But I'm still testing it for other command lines glitches that could arise. With new version "%Z%P" "%Z%T" is enough, but old params should work too.

This version works great :D (thank you!) - but ONLY if you use the new parameters you suggested!!!

Old parameters cause problems with subfolders in archives.

Great work!

Thank you.

P.S.: Is this a good time to remind you, if you could include a "single folder refresh" feature in the preview window ... :)?
